Have an interesting take on this one. A friend of mine was over weight. He asked a girl out and she told him point blank you are too fat for me to date. He said It motivated him. He lost weight and they dated. He had no regrets and even thanked her for the motivation. When he told me at the time I was mad at her. I believe if you really love someone changing would be very easy. I also think it depends on the attitude of the person wanting the change. If they are rude and demeaning then it might not have anything to do with wanting you to change. It might just be that they are controlling or maybe just mean. As with most things dealing with relationships it all depends how it's presented and the willingness of both parties. Who can really say if someone should or not change? It's up the individual and what they can live with.

No one should change to get people to like them - they either like you or they don't - end of story... or it should be. If you do change or settle or take chances that your heart tells you not to, you will ultimately end up miserable... i.e. you have to be true to yourself before you can be true enough for anyone else.
